Guys, I can’t even tell you how excited I am to attend the 2016 Lantern Fest put on by Sack Lunch Productions – and you are invited too!
Ever since I saw the movie “Tangled” I was fascinated with lanterns. It’s mesmerizing to me. I know I am not the only one that feels this way, but I could never really put into words.
Then we lost our little boy. Around that same time I saw some pictures of a friend and her husband at a lantern fest – they had also recently lost their little girl and they had dedicated this night, their lantern, to their sweet angel baby. They posted videos and pictures and my heart understood. I ached to be there with them, honoring my little boy.
Needless to say, I was thrilled when the Lantern fest was a) coming back to Utah and b) I was available. I would like to take both of my girls to see this event and honor their brother, but we’ll see. Babies need sleep and cranky babies are no fun. Little sister may miss out this year.
The Lantern fest event will be on August 20, and the gates open at 4 PM at Utah Motorsports Campus, 2901 Sheep Lane, Tooele, Utah 84704. They recommend you carpool because parking is limited. Lanterns fly when the sun goes down. Don’t forget to bring blankets, chairs, jackets, comfortable shoes, money for treats, and your ticket!
Regular registration is $35 for adult and $7 for child. This is only for a few more days. After that, prices go up until the day of! Tickets DO sell out, so be sure to buy tickets soon and use the code KAYLYNNYOUNG20 for 20% off your tickets, regardless of when you register.
Definitely check out the Lantern Fest (HERE) for more pictures and videos!!
