Love it! Perfect. I've dealt with this similar thing with my adoption when I have weirdly had people ask me about my pregnancy or about how my daughter was born 3 days after Christmas and was it scary being pregnant over the holidays etc. But for me I share when I feel I am meant to and other times I just say yes or no. I think each person can feel the right time to share.

You know what's interesting about this? Any of those questions can be difficult. If you're a working mom here in Mormon land, you might feel guilt and shame talking about how you don't stay at home with your kids. My husband hasn't had a job outside the home for about 5 years, and at the age 45 went to college for the first time. You think we love those questions? The judgemental looks and the *oh so well meant * "We'll isn't he so brave! And, " Better late than never!" And I did have a miscarriage along the way. A baby whose heart I heard and saw beating, felt fluttering movements and then, sadly, lost. The fact is, when we head out into the world, dicey conversations are everywhere. Our shame and fear triggers are like land mines out there, waiting to derail our day. But, I have found, when I am courageous, when I am just being who I am, crazy life and all, that my story is only about me. Others may or may not be able to say what I'd love to hear. I know who I am and what happened over here. And I'm not willing to avoid talking to people, or avoiding them talking to me, or handing out a list of appropriate topics ahead of time. My life is how I got here. Let's go with it! Let's just get out there and be who we are and say what we need to say!
