The Best Apple Pie

Ooey Gooey Apple pie that is jam-packed full of yum!

Ingredients

Crust:

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c. crisco
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 TB vinegar

Filling:

  • 5-7 tart apples *add 1 TB lemon juice if apples are not tart!
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 TB flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 TB cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 TB butter

Instructions

Crust:

  • Mix flour and salt.
  • Cut in Crisco.
  • Add milk and vinegar.

Filling:

  • Slice apples thin.
  • Mix sugar, flour, salt, and spices.
  • Sprinkle half over 9 in. pastry lined pan.
  • Heap apples into pie shell and sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Adjust top crust.
  • Brush top with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake at 470 for 10 minutes then bake 350 for 30 min.
