The Best Apple Pie

Ooey Gooey Apple pie that is jam-packed full of yum!

Ingredients

Crust:

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c. crisco
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 TB vinegar

Filling:

  • 5-7 tart apples *add 1 TB lemon juice if apples are not tart!
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 TB flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 TB cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 TB butter

Instructions

Crust:

  1. Mix flour and salt.
  2. Cut in Crisco.
  3. Add milk and vinegar.

Filling:

  1. Slice apples thin.
  2. Mix sugar, flour, salt, and spices.
  3. Sprinkle half over 9 in. pastry lined pan.
  4. Heap apples into pie shell and sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.
  5. Dot with butter.
  6. Adjust top crust.
  7. Brush top with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake at 470 for 10 minutes then bake 350 for 30 min.
