Tres Leches

Translated it means "three milks"- this cake is creamy, delicious, and packed with flavor. 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 10 eggs separated
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 2 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 2 (14oz) cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 (12 oz) cans evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. 

  2. Grease a 15" pan. 
    (NO it will not fit into a 9x13 unless you are cutting this recipe in half!)

  3. Beat yolks with 1 1/2 c. sugar until light. 

  4. Stir in milk, vanilla, flour, and baking powder. 

  5. Set aside. 

  6. In another bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. 

  7. Gradually add remaining 1/2 cup sugar. 

  8. Fold whites into yolks. 

  9. Pour into pan. 

  10. Bake 45-50 minutes. 

  11. Cool for 10 minutes. 

  12. In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and 1/4 cup of whipping cream. 

  13. Pierce cake all over with a fork. 

  14. Pour milks over the cake slowly and evenly. 

  15. Whip the remaining cream.

  16. Frost cake and garnish with strawberries.
