Bacon Wrapped Brat

When we went to Summerfest this summer, we desperately wanted to try something different. Of course, there were the funnel cakes, mexican, and sloppy BBQ tents, but we were looking for more. Tucked in the back corner, we found a little stand for Bacon wrapped dogs. They were to DIE for. We knew we could perfect them by adding HIGH quality bacon and a bratwurst (instead of a hot dog). Since then, the bacon wrapped brat has been a favorite.

It took us a few times, but we {actually Handsome} perfected the techniques. Ready to hear our secrets?

Tip #1: Toothpicks. Lifesavers. We used two, but I don’t know that you could use too many… right?

Tip #2: Top rack. These babies are delicate.

Tip #3: Medium to low heat. We cooked these babies for almost an hour. Like I said, delicate and fickle things!

Again, this has been a staple in our home this summer. We LOVE our bacon wrapped brats in this house! Anything wrapped or covered in bacon HAS to be good, right?

  1. Oh my good gravy. I LOVE bratwursts. I LOVE them. Wrapped in bacon?? Oh my! I wish I had one right now for breakfast. Excuse me while I go clean up my drool….
