CONFESSION: I’m a wanna be Pinterest mom. I saw WANNABE because I pretend like I’m good at parties, cakes, decorating, etc but I’m actually not. The whole ordeal is a little stressful and (for me) it’s the most fun when it’s over. There. I said it!
This year, I simplified and it was AMAZING. Basic Invite covered the invitations (instead of me making each one from scratch) and Provo Beach threw the party. Why have I not done this sooner?!
Basic Invite was super impressive. Customizable, cute, colorful. I was a little worried because when I ordered them the delivery date was only a few days before the party. Never fear, these darling invites showed up a few days after I ordered them, which thoroughly impressed me! I’ll definitely be using them again for their printables, thank you cards, and personal stationary!
When T and I saw this rainbow card we knew it was the one. I mean… rainbow. If you ask her what her favorite color is? You guessed it – it’s rainbow.
Our Provo Beach party was …. AMAZING. I can’t say enough – this was a dream come true. It was seriously like a vacation for me! We had two hostesses assigned to our party and they kept our Provo Beach party on track and made sure everything ran smoothly.
T had never had a birthday party like this, so she ATE IT UP. The special birthday pin, the balloons, all the attention. I mean – does it get any better?
I did make a My Little Pony cake for her – girlfriend is obsessed with ponies and has been for awhile. I made a small cake because … 6 year olds. Right?
When you book a party at Provo Beach you select the two activities you’d like. We chose bowling and the mega play area and they did not disappoint. Some kids were better at bowling than others, but all of them loved throwing that “heavy” bowling ball around!
This picture of T and her cousins was so sweet. Her one cousin is a year older and the other is a year younger. She adores them both and was so glad they could both come to her Provo Beach birthday party.
After bowling we went to play on the mega play and it was AMAZING. I was astounded how BIG that place is! I think the kids felt the same way because they kept asking me to find their friends – the place was SO big! The hardest part was rounding kids up … but I guess when you tell them they’re going to go eat Provo Beach pizza there isn’t a whole lot of resistance.
Did you know Provo Beach had pizza? Oh my Goodness golly it is YUMMERS. The spread included three pizza, soft drinks, plates, napkins, cups, all the good stuff.
I feel the exact same way about pizza – get it in my mouth FAST!
After most kids had taken 3 1/2 bites of their pizza they were “full” but ready for ice cream. Oh to be 4/5/6.
This was one of the most favorite parts of the entire party: ice cream. Remember how these same kids were all “full” just a few minutes ago? The miracle of ice cream never ceases to amaze me.
The most popular flavor of ice cream at Provo Beach (at least among these kiddos)? VANILLA. I was shocked. REALLY?!
While the kids ate their ice cream we sang to T, passed out the cake, and quickly did presents. It was amazing how fast time flew when I wasn’t worrying about keeping the party on track!
Again, I was super impressed AND the best part? I didn’t have to be the boss telling people when it was time to do what. Totally out of my hands! My favorite part of our Provo Beach party was the fact that our party was CONTAINED. There was always adult supervision and we did our activities together as a group.
T loved every second of this party – it was hard to leave! She’d never had a party like this before so she was in heaven.
Moral of the story: Simplifying is better. I HIGHLY recommend Basic Invites for the invitations and Provo Beach for the party – stress free, high quality, and SO FUN! Now the real question is: how can I do the same thing every year? Do you think my kids will care?
